He is likewise the owner of Lysandre Labs, the visitor that created the Holo Pulley. He is the but character in the games to accept the Trainer class Team Flare Boss (Japanese: フレアだんボス Team Flare Dominate).

In the core series

In Pokémon X and Y, the actor showtime meets Lysandre in Professor Sycamore'southward lab in Lumiose City seeing potential in them, and then later in Café Soleil where he is seen talking to Diantha about her acting career. He discusses with her virtually the idea of eternal dazzler, simply she rapidly dismisses the thought, claiming that she does non look for such a thing, much to Lysandre'south badgerer. Afterwards this, he spots the player, where he speaks about his dream of a beautiful earth.

Following this, Lysandre doesn't reappear until much later, after the player has defeated Clemont for their fifth Badge. This time, he speaks about the male monarch of Kalos who most vaporized all life in the region iii,000 years ago past usage of a weapon. He as well speaks almost Xerneas'south X /Yveltal's Y role in the cosmos of the ultimate weapon, equally well as their role in the cosmos of life and devastation as a whole. After this, Lysandre will regularly communicate with the player through the Holo Caster, monitoring their progress, and constantly showing his vision for a beautiful world every bit well as asking them to reconsider his proposal and bring together him on his cause.

Lysandre then appears after the actor has received their seventh Badge. At this point, information technology is revealed through his Holo Caster message that he is the leader of Team Flare, and that he plans to apply the weapon which he spoke about earlier in order to eliminate anyone non part of Team Flare, surprising both the actor and their neighbor. The player later confronts Lysandre in person at the lab beneath his café equally he wishes to test the player's resolve, and is and so battled and defeated. Lysandre admires the player's resolve and strength and instructs them that if they wish to terminate him, he must go the lift key from i of 4 Team Flare's scientists the actor already met, while he retreats clandestine.

After the player obtains the Key and descends further into the lab, they meet with Lysandre who is speaking with a tall man backside bars known as AZ. Lysandre introduces AZ as someone who "shares the name of the previous Rex of Kalos" likewise as possessing the key of the ultimate weapon. Later AZ tells the player the tragedy left past the ultimate weapon and asks them to finish the device from being used, Lysandre invites the player deeper underground if they wish to stop him. The histrion descends and meets Lysandre talking with Xerosic. Lysandre then tells the player to battle Xerosic, and if they are successful confronting the scientist, then they volition stop their scheme. Later the histrion defeats Xerosic, he has them push 1 of two buttons, 1 of which activates the weapon. Even so, pushing the correct one unfortunately does not finish Xerosic from unleashing the weapon on Kalos. (If the thespian chooses the blue push he will actuate the weapon by remote control, otherwise the actor activates the weapon.)

Lysandre is later establish again at the site of the ultimate weapon in Geosenge Town where the player'due south rival questions him most his extreme measures to fix the world, which he replies that they are the simply possible solution for he thinks humans are inherently evil and greedy. He uses the analogy of them competing over their Mega Band every bit an example that when something cannot be shared, people will fight for it, for someone must live with information technology and some without and equally such, more tragedies are likely to happen and therefore, the only solution is to reduce the human being population. When further questioned most Pokémon, he tearfully claims that Pokémon, while magnificent beings, are condemned to be used by humans and, for the greater adept, are all-time annihilated.

He is then battled over again as he only seeks to stall for fourth dimension against the player. The histrion defeats Lysandre once once more, and he shows further adoration for the player'due south strength. He then challenges the role player to travel deeper into the Team Flare Secret HQ to stop the weapon despite his belief that it is already besides late, only multiple members of Team Flare are waiting in ambush on the lower floors. After defeating them, the player reaches Xerneas or Yveltal. The legendary Pokémon is then battled and caught by the player, seemingly disabling the weapon. Lysandre returns, wearing a cybernetic adapt intended to drain Xerneas's X /Yveltal'south Y energy back into the motorcar, and he declares that he volition take the legendary Pokémon dorsum and complete his plan. Now wielding a Mega Ring of his ain, he engages the player in a concluding battle.

After being defeated for the 3rd and final fourth dimension, Lysandre expresses his cloy towards the fact that his cute world volition never be a reality. The player and their friends endeavour to reason with him, saying that if people cooperate together, a better world is possible, and they use the Mega Development achieved by him as proof of the bail he has with his Pokémon. He, however, rejects the idea as mere naivety and and then attempts to strength immortality on the thespian, their friends, and himself X /kill anybody in the building Y and fires the ultimate weapon using what little power still remains. Hearing this, the thespian and their friends apace get out, later which the blast from the weapon destroys the building and seemingly buries Lysandre and the HQ nether rubble, putting an end to Team Flare'due south threat.

Later on on in the game, an NPC in Snowbelle City who is an sometime friend of Lysandre mentions that Lysandre had noble intentions and did his best to help people in need, only was somewhen convinced of humanity's stupidity, forth with his ain limitations which resulted in him becoming a misanthrope.

Lysandre appears as a fellow member of Squad Rainbow Rocket in Pokémon Ultra Sun and Ultra Moon. He is one of the 2nd pair of bosses the actor must face, along with Cyrus. This Lysandre was summoned from a earth where his plans succeeded. However, as he explains to the actor, a bright light consumed him when he fired the ultimate weapon and was transported to the game's earth. He has his Squad Rainbow Rocket Grunts set up devices with cherry-red and blueish buttons in his office within Team Rocket's Castle. Then, he subjects the histrion to the aforementioned pick the role player in Kalos was subjected to, challenge that one button will activate the ultimate weapon and the other volition open the path to Giovanni. Notwithstanding, no matter which push button the player chooses, information technology will be the one that activates the weapon. Lysandre then tells the player that pushing the contrary push button will prevent it from firing. However, in order to buy fourth dimension for the weapon to fire, Lysandre battles the player, using Xerneas US /Yveltal UM every bit office of his team. When he is defeated, he allows the player to printing the other button, ostensibly shutting down the ultimate weapon, likewise equally unlocking one of the two seals needed to accomplish Giovanni. Lysandre so wonders if things would have been unlike in his world if he had met a Trainer like the role player. He and then rejects that line of thought, resolving that he must bring nearly his beautiful world.

He received the Lysandre Automobile, which Clemont was forced to build, and a Mega Band, which had its Key Rock stolen from Korrina. Lysandre and Xerosic began draining Xerneas of its life energy to fuel the ultimate weapon. X subsequently broke into the building to put an end to Team Flare'due south ambitions. He found the ultimate weapon'due south command room and confronted Lysandre, who used his Mega Ring to Mega Evolve his Gyarados. During their battle, X had his Élec utilise its Lightning Rod to pull electricity from the ultimate weapon's cushion into its tail, draining the machine of its power. This allowed Xerneas to awaken from its sleep and revert dorsum to normal.

In PS580, Trevor, Tierno, Shauna, Clemont, Emma, and AZ arrived at the control room, where they found X had already been defeated. Trevor, Tierno, and Shauna tried removing the ultimate weapon's key but were unable to pull it out in time before information technology fired. To Lysandre's frustration, the combined efforts of 10 and his friends successfully weakened the ultimate weapon, preventing information technology from taking whatever innocent lives. AZ stayed behind to allow Xerneas to escape back to the surface with Ten and the others. When Malva attempted to face X'southward group with Yveltal, Lysandre ordered a armistice due to it and Xerneas being evenly matched. These actions earned Team Flare the anger of Mewtwo, who protected the Pokémon Village. In PS590, X and Bluish establish Lysandre in boxing with Mewtwo at the village. Hoping to take Mewtwo weakened enough for capture, Lysandre tried to trick information technology into attacking Ten and Bluish, but for Blaine to arrive and Mega Evolve Mewtwo into its Y form.

By talking into the device, Essentia would echo Lysandre's words, allowing him to control the Zygarde she had defenseless earlier. While Blaine and Mewtwo kept Zygarde still, Ten defeated Essentia, uncovering her true identity as his friend Emma. With some words of encouragement from X and Cassius, Emma betrayed Lysandre, simply was attacked by his Gyarados before she could command Zygarde. Lysandre took Zygarde's Poké Ball, only for Y to get in and have his Mega Ring. Although he was angered by this, Lysandre fabricated an announcement to the entire Kalos region, informing the public of Squad Flare'southward programme to destroy everything with the ultimate weapon. By borrowing Primal Stones from his allies, X was able to activate Mega Evolution for his entire team at one time.

In PS593, Lysandre used Zygarde to boxing 10's Mega-Evolved squad. As the battle went on, 10's friends noticed Zygarde'south trunk was breaking apart due to Xerneas and Yveltal reverting to their tree and cocoon forms. Once they fully reverted, 10 had his team launch one final assault, fully separating Zygarde. Malva attempted to save Lysandre from falling, only for both to land onto the rubble below. Heavily injured, Lysandre weakly asked Malva why the ultimate weapon had not withal been fired. Afterward, Blaine revealed Lysandre was alive, just had sustained severe injuries to his spinal string.
